VETS ONLY: TAKE ME STRAIGHT TO SIGN UP, START & END SURVEY CLINICAL TRIAL

DiabEasy introduction by Professor Stijn Niessen

In this 180 second video Stijn explains the most important points of DiabEasy. Despite popular belief there is no hard evidence that we need to aim for specific glucose values to achieve a good life for dogs and cats with diabetes - this has been internationally agreed by a group of global specialists, chaired by Stijn himself. Read the publication here.  So, let's focus on quality of life and safety with this no-nonsense, safe and easy method of finding the right insulin dose - DiabEasy!

joining the diabeasy clinical trial

Provide best care to your next diabetic case AND become co-author of a scientific publication!

The next time you as a veterinarian see a diabetic dog or cat and want to start insulin, or even when you have started insulin already, you can join the DiabEasy(tm) trial by registering your patient using this  link, which includes a sign up, start-survey and the study protocol - answer all "START" questions. The study protocol, which features the DiabEasy(tm) method, is also displayed below, so that you can find it whenever needed during the management of your patient - feel free to print it out.

At the end of the study, you as a veterinarian are asked to complete the end-survey using the same link, this time only completing the "END" questions.

After that please email us the PDF of the Freestyle Libre results, using the email address below.

That's it - nice and easy! Why not become a DiabEasy author with us when you next see a diabetic dog or cat?

Any questions: contact us via our email address: info@veterinaryspecialistconsultations.com.

Ethical approval has been secured through assessment of an independent ethical committee. This research is intended to help individual animals and is not deemed harmful - instead the extra support provided is expected to benefit those participating in the trial.

Although this protocol is subject to copyright, as a courtesy to the profession and all diabetic animals, all veterinarians are allowed to use it as a diabetes protocol in their clinic, as long as one acknowledges the original name (DiabEasy[tm]) and the fact that the protocol is subject to copyright held by Professor Dr Stijn Niessen of the Niessen Forcada Institute.

DiabEasy(tm) Study protocol

This document displays the protocol to be used during the study. Please note the protocol can also be used by individual clinicians outside the clinical trial, though cannot be distributed more widely without prior consent. The protocol's name "DiabEasy" should always be mentioned in relation to communications of the protocol. The Niessen Forcada Institute reminds users of the protocol that despite the careful, evidence-based design of the protocol, the ultimate responsibility of the care of an animal lies with the directly attending clinician and the Niessen Forcada Institute cannot be held accountable for any inadvertent negative consequences that arise when using the protocol.
